In 1995, the "David Choir" named after Reißiger´s opus magnum the rediscoverd oratorium "David" was founded by amateur singers from the Belzig region. The conductor of the choir since its beginning is Thea Labes. Currently the choir has about 40 members of various religious denominations.
When Reißiger´s hometown Belzig celebrated its 1000th anniversary, the oratorium "David" was performed for the first time since Reißigers' death. There was a great public interest in this performance, and it was even shown in a special feature of the regional TV station.
